Notes from coastal walks in Busan, South Korea. This edition looks at three of Busan's coastal walkways and reflects on how such infrastructure can encourage the exploration of landscapes.
Spend close 6years in china at Shenzhen. A sleepy fishing village 25-30 ago; developed as an answer to Hong Kong. It is now a major tech and startup hub - one of the most sophisticated new cities I have seen. They had massive mangroves along the cost line. Much of it got reclaimed in early days of development. But they managed to save a few hundred meters and now developed as 17km long mangroves park that’s a great community space for recreation, family time, walks or sports. (I used cycle the full length on weekends). Any city would feel proud of such restoration.
Thanks Gargi. There are other mountains to be climbed too, Busan seems to have enough for the adventurer! If you travel there, visit other interesting spots, and write about it, I'd love to read that 😊
Very true.

Thanks for sharing, Unmesh. Wish we could restore our coastlines too, without making it solely about revenue.
Extremely informative Devyani, definitely revisit this whenever I travel to South Korea.
